Most of us believe in angels and
some don’t ...
This boy is one of the angels I meet at Haji Ali
It was a weekday morning around 9 or 9:30am. A boy was passing from the street next to the Haji Ali garden. While going towards the public toilet, he saw two ladies were engaged with some kids near the garden and suddenly one of the boy called him....
It was Yusuf.... Yusuf called and
introduced that boy to those ladies... Actually the ladies were doing a
survey.
One of the ladies asked this boy to
read something... He read it...but wasn't perfect.
Later the conversation went like
this....
Lady, “what do you do?’
Boy, ‘I sell books here at the traffic signal;
Lady, “ you go to school?"
Boy, “no, I used to but I dropped after standard 2"
Lady, “how do you know English?"
"You read it very well..... Who
teaches you?"
Boy, "amm!, my dad taught me alphabets and I also ask my
regular customers to help me in reading...and... my friends and I also do competition on the numbers of words we could read in the HUGE advertisement on the hoardings.
Lady, "Who do you think is happier, the rich or the
poor?"
The boy's answer was simple, “The
poor,” he replied, “They don't have to worry about profit or loss, because they
have no money to lose, and no cause for worry. Look at me, I sleep and wake up
whenever I like. See the rich people rushing off to work before the boss
arrives? I don’t worry about tomorrow and I am happy with my life.”
the boy went on and on...........
The lady got impressed by him and offered
him an opportunity...
The opportunity to study...
The opportunity to restart his
education....
The opportunity to begin a new life
with dreams and new desires......
Boy took charge of that opportunity
and changed his lifestyle for a better tomorrow. Currently he is in his final year of GRADUATION perusing
Sociology as his major subject and planning to make career in tourism.....
He has a dream of starting his own
TOURIST COMPANY through which he will be helping the other children like him
who wants to study as well as want to support their family....
That day “I” (the boy in the story) met two angels…
First one was Yusuf, who introduced me to the Second one, Caroline
didi (The lady in the story) who offered me the opportunity of EDUCATION.
Thank you so much YUSUF for that introduction…
That few minutes interview had not only changed my life but also
helped me to transform it.
